It is necessary to have access to trained risk assessment personnel that can provide advice and assistance to employers who have identified areas of concern during the self-assessment exercise. This course has been designed to enable key personnel to support the ‘users’ in conducting their self assessments and enable them to make recommendations for improvement to the workstation where appropriate.

• Risk assessment and reduction

• How to assess & reduce risks
• Employer/employee responsibility
• Work breaks, eye tests & provision of aids, training.
• Risks to users
• Repetitive strain injury (RSI). What is it? How to prevent it
• Eyesight, Fatigue, stress
• Equipment
• Screen, keyboard, chair, desk, software
• Environment: Lighting, Reflections & glare, Temperature, noise,
• Evaluation of a workstation
• How to conduct an assessment of a typical DSE installation in syndicates
