Judith visited the BSP in September to give the Early Years team, including teachers, nursery nurses, lunchtime supervisors and the School Nurse a course in the current practice for Paediatric First Aid.

The course was delivered with a delightful blend of professionalism and humour. Judith conveyed the information clearly, giving many practical and anecdotal examples throughout the sessions. The medical information given was clearly explained with the use of terminology at a level of understanding for all involved.

The practical sessions, involving resuscitation and applying bandages to damaged limbs, were demonstrated in a coherent manner. The trainer then allowed the trainees to have hands on experience practicing on dummies as well as each other. During this aspect of the course Judith was very supportive, giving positive feedback throughout.

In order to keep in touch with current practice we shall need a refresher course and BSP will be happy to recruit Judith to provide the training with the confidence that it will be delivered with the same high standards recently experienced.

I studied Level Three Supervising Food Safety at Ashley Down Centre of Bristol City College. The tutor was Andrew Forbes of AFCC Ltd and the manner in which he delivered the course kept us all interested. This was my first time studying at this level and I achieved the grade which is now helping me further in my line of work.
